Hiking Group October 1st hike (Saturday). We will be hiking to the Rio Chama Overlook. This hike starts near the Herron Lake Dam and goes down an improved walkway (lots of steps) to a suspension bridge that goes over the Rio Chama. From there it's a moderate but steady uphill grade to the overlook. The overlook views the area where the Rio Chama enters El Vado Lake. We will be leaving the church lot at 9:00, should be at the trail head by 11:00 and will stop at a table about a third of the way up the trail for a bring your own sack lunch. It should take just a little over an hour to hike to the overlook and a little less to hike back out. After the hike everyone is invited to the Littleton's cabin for rejuvenation and a BBQ. Jan will lead a mini hike to her meditation point. Please let Jan or Tom know ahead of time if you will be able to make this hike. This will be a bit of a drive but the fall foliage and the lake view should make it worthwhile!
Whether or not you've hiked with us in the past please try to join us on one or all of these Holy Soles hikes to enjoy God's creation!
